Why this use case

A relay that doesn't fail mid-stream

Streaming simultaneously to Twitch, YouTube and TikTok from a gaming PC means sharing upload bandwidth between the game and three encodings. A VPS relay elegantly solves this: your PC sends a single RTMP stream to the VPS, which duplicates and redistributes it to every platform. Your home connection only sees one stream; your viewers see you everywhere.

Bandwidth: the lifeblood

Three 1080p60 outputs at 8 Mbps = 24 Mbps constant, not counting spikes. On a VPS with 100 shared Mbps, you're at 25% permanent saturation — with the bottlenecks that implies at peak hours. Our guaranteed 10 Gbps absorbs these flows without latency moving a millisecond. One streaming customer sustained 6.8 Gbps during an event with zero packet loss.

nginx-rtmp or SRS?

For simple restreaming, nginx-rtmp + FFmpeg suffices and configures in 30 minutes. For multi-platform with transcoding (vertical TikTok from a horizontal stream), SRS or OvenMediaEngine offer more flexibility. 1080p→720p transcoding consumes about one fast vCore per stream — hence the value of high-frequency Ryzen 9.

Recording and VODs

Record your lives locally while relaying: NVMe Gen4 writes an 8 Mbps stream without blinking while serving redistribution. A Quantum (400 GB) stores about 200 hours of 1080p VOD.

Latency and location

Place the relay closest to your target platform's main ingest point: Paris/Frankfurt for Twitch Europe (ingest in Paris), New York for Twitch US East. Our latencies to major ingests are under 15 ms in Europe.

Quick start

  1. 1Deploy a Quantum closest to your platform's ingest.
  2. 2Install nginx-rtmp or SRS via Docker.
  3. 3Point OBS to rtmp://your-vps/live.
  4. 4Add push outputs to Twitch, YouTube, TikTok.
  5. 5Enable local recording for your VODs.
