Dlaczego 10 Gb/s to nie gadżet

Why 10 Gbps is no gimmick

When we rolled out 10 Gbps across every plan in 2023, some raised eyebrows: "who needs 10 Gbps on a VPS?". Twelve months of data later, the answer is clear.

The invisible bottleneck

On a saturated 1 Gbps link, latency explodes well before the ceiling: past 70% utilization, equipment queues add tens of milliseconds. With 10 Gbps, a VPS pushing 1 Gbps of real traffic uses only 10% of the link — latency stays flat.

What we measure

  • Average intra-datacenter latency at peak: 0.31 ms (vs 2.4 ms on our old 1 Gbps fabric)
  • Restoring a 100 GB backup: 2 min 40 s from our object storage
  • Absorbed peak for a streaming customer: 6.8 Gbps sustained with zero packet loss

Peering matters as much as throughput

A badly peered 10 Gbps is worthless. We're present at DE-CIX, France-IX, AMS-IX, LINX, NYIIX and SGIX, with over 1,400 active peering sessions. The result: 82% of our European customers' traffic crosses no paid transit at all.

Conclusion

10 Gbps isn't about downloading faster: it's about keeping your VPS responsive when your neighbors are busy. That's exactly what premium hosting should deliver.
