Frankfurt isn't just Europe's financial capital: it's the continent's Internet node. DE-CIX exchanges over 14 Tbps at peak there — the largest exchange point in the world. Our FRA-1 site, opened in 2021, is directly connected at 2×100 Gbps.
At the center of everything
From Frankfurt: 9 ms to Paris, 15 ms to Warsaw, 12 ms to Vienna, 8 ms to Zurich. For a pan-European application, it's the natural barycenter — the location that minimizes average latency for the most European users. It's also our recommended site paired with Paris for redundant architectures: two EU jurisdictions, two independent networks, a private 100 Gbps interconnection between them.
German data law
Germany has Europe's strictest data protection jurisprudence (BDSG + GDPR). For German customers or companies whose DPO requires German hosting, FRA-1 meets requirements without compromising performance.
